BuskerFest Toronto - 08.21.08

COMEDY, SPONTANEITY A DASH OF THE UNBELIEVABLE!
Welcome to the wacky and wonderful world of BuskerFest. For four days, every August, a collection of the highest skilled and most entertaining street performers gather in the St. Lawrence market to bring the thrill of world class street theatre to Torontonians.
4 days and 4 nights of continuous, non-stop, side-splitting hilarity, noon 'till midnight, August 21st to the 24th, in the historic St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood - along Front Street, between Church and Jarvis.

Buskers are gutsy street performers who fly by the seat of their pants - sometimes literally! They boldly take their astonishing talent right into the audience where spectator participation ensures every show is just a little different.

An electric performer, Matt James defines the true meaning of a multi-instrumental musician. Simultaneously using the deep vibrations of didgeridoos with rhythmic percussion, soulful guitar and serenatding flutes, Matt's music takes you on a journey through many flavors of rhythm and melody. His rich tribal grooves will move your body and your soul.

It is interesting watching Kate Mior play the crowd. If you catch her eye, she’ll flirt with you to get you to come over and drop a coin or three into her bucket. If you do, she holds out her hand for you to kiss. But most people don’t know that, though they catch on quickly. Little boys don’t want to kiss her – they tend to run back to their parents. Women are better tippers than men. Women also seem to feel guilty if they posed for a photo but then realise they don’t have any change on them. But their boyfriends don’t seem to be bothered.

New Zealand's Lurk, a "clown with a complex," performing impeccable stilt sk
